Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 28, 2026. Last Updated: September 2026.

1. Our Foundational Privacy Promise

At MantraJapaCounter.in, we fundamentally believe that your personal spiritual practice is sacred, intimate, and private. We have designed our web application with a privacy-first, client-side architecture. You do not need to create an account, log in with an email, or share personal identification to use any tool on our platform.

2. What We DO NOT Collect or Store on Our Servers

Under no circumstances does MantraJapaCounter.in upload, transmit, or store the following on remote servers or databases:

  • Your mantra repetitions or counter tallies
  • Your completed mala counts
  • The names or texts of your custom mantras
  • Your personal Sankalps, goals, and targets
  • Your daily sadhana history and active streaks
  • Your personal reflection notes or session durations

3. Local Browser Storage Technologies (IndexedDB & localStorage)

To provide seamless offline continuity and historical tracking without an account, our tools use standard browser storage technologies that live 100% on your personal device:

  • IndexedDB (MantraJapaCounterDB): Stores your active goals, daily counts, session durations, and calendar records directly on your phone or computer.
  • localStorage: Stores lightweight UI preferences, including your dark/light theme setting, sound toggle state, haptic vibration state, and last selected mantra name.

Because this information resides solely in your browser sandbox, clearing your browser cache or cookies will erase your local Japa records. We encourage practitioners to use our Export My Japa Data feature to keep secure personal backups.

4. Progressive Web App (PWA) & Service Workers

Our website installs a Service Worker to cache static application assets (HTML structure, CSS stylesheets, JavaScript files, and SVG icons). This allows the counter to function without an active internet connection. The service worker does not monitor or transmit your browsing activities.

5. Contact Form Data

If you voluntarily choose to contact us via our Contact Us form, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit solely for answering your inquiry. For security and anti-spam verification, we record an anonymized one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. Contact messages are never linked to any Japa counts.

6. Analytics & Advertising

We may utilize privacy-respecting general website analytics or display context-appropriate advertisements in designated zones outside of the counting tool. Any advertising partners may use standard cookies to serve relevant ads according to standard internet practices. However, no Japa data, mantra names, or counting numbers are ever shared with advertisers or analytics providers.

7. Your Data Rights: Export & Permanent Deletion

You have absolute ownership and control over your data:

  • Export Data: You can download a standardized, machine-readable JSON backup of your entire sadhana log at any time using the Export My Japa Data button.
  • Delete Local Data: You can permanently wipe all records from your device using the Delete All Data button in settings or backup dialogs.

8. Contact Us Regarding Privacy

If you have questions about our privacy policies or data practices, please reach out through our Contact Page.
